Question: Should I have my vehicle exhaust system inspected regularly?
A:Yes. Laser lube inspects the exhaust system for leaks during every 40 point basic vehicle maintenance oil change service. The procedure we use to do this is while the vehicle is at an idle, we restrict the exhaust flow by covering the tail pipe and visually inspecting any exhaust
fumes that my be escaping throughout the entire exhaust system. Many times Laser Lube may be able to observe an exhaust leak that may otherwise be unnoticed by listening and touching only the exhaust. Although, the exhaust fumes could be entering the interior of your vehicle causing carbon monoxide poisoning.
Laser Lube uses high quality original factory exhaust replacement parts while other auto repair shops may use lower quality replacement parts. The quality level of the exhaust parts has to do with the thickness of the metal used to manufacture the exhaust pipes, mufflers, etc. Of course, the added longevity of the exhaust system will save you time and money in the long run, although maybe not initially. Also less restricted catalytic converters and mufflers are available to save fuel and provide more horsepower or torque.
Laser Lube has recently expanded to provide custom exhaust services. Next door at our Blue Flame Muffler and Performance Center, we have a pipe bending machine as well as brand name mufflers (e.g. Flowmaster, Cherry Bomb, Vortex, etc. Superchip, Bully Dog and Edge performance chips are available in addition to cold air intakes from K&N, Air Raid to Air Force One products.)
So come to Laser Lube for all factory service maintenance including regular exhaust inspections and performance products to increase fuel mileage.

Question: What is a differential or "rear end"?
Answer: The differential sometimes referred to as the "rear end" has gears that drive the axle which in turn drive or move the wheels. These gears are located within a housing containing special gear oil. This oil provides lubrication as well as cooling for the gears and needs to be
changed every 30,000 miles per most auto manufacturers.
Front wheel drive vehicles do not have a separate differential in the rear like rear wheel drive vehicles/trucks. These gears are located within the transmission and then are referred to as a transaxle, hence transmission and axles working together in one housing/location.
4X4 vehicles have separate front & rear differentials and of course a transmission and a transfer case gear box to accommodate four wheel drive on demand.
So come to Laser Lube to service all your differential and transmission needs.
